FACT:- Greyhounds = Couch Potatoes

No we have not made an mistake, the majority of people in Ireland would
never think of “greyhound” and “couch potato” in the same sentence
but believe me it is 100% true as the photos of Lisa above and Suzy below show.

There are so many myths in this country in relation to greyhounds but stories is all they are,
there are thousands of homes around the world where you can see these
beautiful souls lounging around living as treasured pets but for some reason
the ‘truth’ is not sinking into the minds of the Irish which is a great tragedy
as we are probably the biggest breeders of greyhounds in the world.
If you are looking for a companion that you can have a pleasant walk with each day and that
will curl up peacefully by the fire on a winter’s evening or stretch out beside a window with sunlight shining through
and give you vast amounts of unconditional love then a greyhound would be an ideal candidate for you.

QUESTION:- Can Greyhounds & Cats Live Safely And Happily Together?
We all know of terriers, boxers, collies, labradors, etc that HATE cats,
well a greyhound is just another breed of dog, meaning they act like other dogs ..............
So when it comes to liking cats “some dogs do, some dogs don’t”

With so many of these deities looking and longing for homes around the country
you can be guaranteed that there will be at least one to choose from which will suit
your lifestyle and tick all the boxes on your ‘wishlist’. Greyhounds are no different to any
other breeds of dogs, some like smaller animals and others don’t, some are gentle enough for
young children others may be too ‘full of life’ but the one thing they all have in common
is that they have big hearts and lots of companionship & loyalty to offer their owners.

If you are unsure or have any questions please contact your local rescue who
will either be able to answer your questions or give you the details of someone else who can.
It is also usually possible to meet with someone who has already adopted a greyhound
to hear what their experiences were like. Be warned though, once you get ‘bitten’ by
the ‘greyhound bug’ you will soon realise that one in your life is not enough :o))
