What Is A Cat?
Gentle eyes that see so much, paws that have the quiet touch.
Purrs to signal "all is well" and show more love than words can tell.
Graceful movements touched with pride, a calming presence by our side.
A friendship that will last and grow, small wonder why we love them so.

The cats of the country have very different lives to those of the dogs, thousands are left
to fend for themselves in urban and rural areas where they soon form colonies and because they have not been
spayed or neutered their numbers multiply rapidly which leads to them being treated like vermin.
In the past we have tried to help to neuter and disperse some of these colonies but due to a severe lack
of funds we are unfortunately unable to currently continue our TNR (trap, neuter & release) program.
We have in the past informed county council personnel that if they were to provide us with a grant that we would
be able to continue doing the program but our requests have fallen on deaf ears despite this fact we continue to
get calls from council offices informing us of ‘feral’ or ‘abandoned domestic’ cats in housing estates, etc that are
causing a nuisance. Operating the TNR program is expensive, as responsible pet owners will appreciate, if housing estate
committees could raise the funds to cover some of the expense then they would be welcome to contact us
for assistance and/or we will loan out one of our cat traps to assist them (we do request a donation from anyone
borrowing one of our traps as we have had to replace damaged ones in the past).
If you have a farm and would be interested in rehoming some of the untame cats who have been TNR’d
and are used to an outdoor life then please let us know as we are always interested in hearing
of new places where we can release these so called ‘vermin’.
